Life Is What You Bake it

2016 flew by! We celebrated 1 year of being in downtown Clarksburg as well as moving into a bigger space and adding extra treats. Here's our year in review:

January was a cold, snowy month-perfect for making goals and getting the weddings booked. Remember that time we had 2 foot of snow?! We had orders for that day and trekked our way through the mounds of snow-it was a fun (and busy!!) day! We will definitely never forget the adventure it was trying to navigate the streets with 3 kids in 2 foot of snow!

February we celebrated a whole year in downtown! We also celebrated Super Hero Day for Jack Rollins. This was one of the most humbling days-ever. We had a line out the door most of the day and we had to turn our phones off because they rang constantly all day long-all for the support of a child-scratch that-a real life super hero-in our community. That day you helped us raise $2000 for Jack and his family. We are so grateful to be apart of the WV community. Many of you traveled from all over North Central WV that day to buy cupcakes for Jack-and even when we were sold out-you made a monetary donation. Faith restored.

March started our wedding season and it didn't stop until November. We are so lucky to be apart of so many important events. We approach every order like it were for our own event. We hope you enjoy what we do!

May brought back the outdoor farmers market and this year we had our dessert trailer! We had cupcakes, cookies, cinnamon rolls and on occasion strawberry shortcake, homemade ice cream and pepperoni rolls! We are looking forward to our 4th outdoor market season this year and cannot wait to bring more fresh baked goods to the trailer-maybe some food options too?!

Summer flew by with very little sleep. Our bodies (and kids) have adjusted to very early mornings and extremely late nights. Thankfully, we started serving espresso and now have an unlimited supply of caffeine!

In July we had a great opportunity to move into a bigger space-just across the street! The new location has allowed us to expand and grow MLC how we envision it. We have added a kid's area and really want to focus on a family-friendly place. Thus, Kid's Day and special events have started! We hope to provide many more fun events at MLC.

Fall came and we shut down for 2 weeks to unwind with our family on vacation. You put us right back to work once we came back!

This Thanksgiving we offered Pumpkin Pies for purchase-kind of on a whim (and after being ask by many if we did them). We had made plenty of pies in the past for our family events. but we always hesitate to introduce a new item because we want you to love it like we do. The pies were a big team effort, but cannot wait to offer them again this year!

It didn't slow down after that, either. Christmas we offered cookie trays. We have never rolled so many cookies, ever!

2016 blessed us with many opportunities and new friendships. Owning a business is always a learning experience. We learned a lot, smiled a lot, stressed a lot, grew a lot, laughed a lot, worried a lot...and here we are now: 2017. We have many goals and ideas for this year and we cannot wait to continue to share MLC with you. Thank YOU for loving MLC like we do. YOU make MLC happen. Here's to another great year, friends!
